puppy? Look no further than Prairie Lakes HRC for a listing of
litters to approved households! Featuring puppies and planned litters not
only provides potential for the club to raise money, but also to
educate potential buyers and promote serious hobby breeders -
breeders who breed to better the breed, that is. We ask all sellers to
list health certifications and titles of the dam and sire. If no health
certifications of the sire or dam have been performed, that information
will be listed as well. Be sure to tell the seller
you found them through Prairie Lakes HRC! For tips on how to select

Looking to
promote your litters or build a list of interested future puppy owners? Help
Prairie Lakes HRC raise funds, and in
return advertise your litters and promote the awareness of purchasing a
puppy from a serious hobby breeder. Our website is linked from the
national Hunting Retriever Club website, and so the possibilities are
endless as to what buyers you may reach. In addition, you have the
word-of-mouth benefit from all members of our organization to offer a
referral to you when they learn someone is searching for a particular
breed of dog. You can also list planned future litters.
Prairie Lakes HRC
recognizes that not all serious hobby breeders make money after the sale
of litters, and so for this reason we believe in keeping our advertising
costs minimal. As a litter owner, advertise with us
each of your litters for just $30 until your entire litter is sold!
If you
become a member
of Prairie Lakes HRC for just $35 a
year for individual membership or $50 for family membership, you are
entitled to list as many litters as you like for the membership year!

KT British Labs are slightly shorter than the American Lab
standing 21”-23” tall. Their weights are also less with the males
ranging from 60-75 lbs, and the females 50-65 lbs. Don’t let their
smaller size fool you. They have great stamina and are a strong dog
which is at home in the water as well as in the field. They will
hunt everything from upland birds out in the field or woods, to
retrieving your downed Greater Canadian Goose. KT British Labs have
an undercoat which is dense and highly water repellant and their
tails are thick, rounded, and “otter-like.” They have a moderately
square head with a naturally soft mouth.
KT's litters are well socialized from whelping until they go to
their new homes, with time spent in their homes to make their
transition to yours an easy one. Our breeding is with our pets and
hunting companions, and our dogs are OFA and CERF Certified.

| All Sauerkraut Chesapeake
dogs are worked heavily on grouse and woodcock during the
hunting season. They are hunted every day of the week the
first two months of the season. All do well as they utilize
that Chessie drive, have good quartering instincts, hunt
close and bring back cripples. We also hunt pheasants when
the opportunity arises. Despite what a lot of critics say
Chessies can be great upland dogs and my guys are a
testament to this.
Dutch and Drifter also spend a fair amount
of time in the goose and duck blind especially in the later
part of the season. They both have very good marking
abilities and had some long blinds out in Lake Michigan this
past season.
Several times we have gone out duck or
goose hunting in the morning and finished the day grouse and
woodcock hunting with lots of success at both ends.
Chessies can do both at very high levels!

"Zowie" is our family dog working toward her started HRC title and hunts pheasant. She is a 66-pound, blockier-headed lab. Zowie is registered in the CHIC database having OFA Good hips, Normal elbows, Normal cardiac, and CERF Normal for eyes. Her sire, Majestic Oaks Grady Jones, comes from a line of conformation champions and hunting background. Her dam, Sadie Ann Quinn, has The Marathon Man "Marty," the all-time high point yellow labrador, prevalent in her pedigree. Zowie's lineage includes greats such as FC AFC Black Gold's Kates Rascal and 1982 NFC-AFC Westwind Supernova Chief. FC AFC Sergeant Barny Ellsworth is within her four-generation pedigree.
"Dealer" is a handsome AKC Master Hunter and Qualified All-Age 65-pound male. Some of his littermates are a bit larger in stature. His sire is Field Champion-Amateur Field Champion Rebel With A Cause and dam Pinehurst's Tall Timbers, whose dam and sire are both Amateur Field Champs and Field Champs. "Dealer" is the personal dog of pro trainer Tim Springer of Dynamic Retrievers. Despite a broken leg as a pup, Dealer rated OFA Good in hips. His four-generation pedigree includes 18 Field Champions, with National Amateur Field Champion Trucmarc's Zip Code and National Field Champion San Joaquin Honcho.
